Year Round School-Age Respite Programs

After School Care
Daily after school activities allow parents to maintain full-time careers, confident that their children are being cared for in a safe, stimulating environment.

School Vacation Days
Activities for a number of school vacation and teacher in-service days.

Food, Friends and Fun
Participants practice their cooking skills in a fun, relaxed social environment.  Everyone learns to prepare a meal, eat and share clean-up duties together.

Girl Scouts For Those With Special Needs
Participants grow from traditional Girl Scout activities modified for each individual.

Bowling League
Adapted to the abilities of each participant bowling, Hand-in-Hand matches special needs participants with typical "bowling buddies" in a community setting.

Young Adult Programs
To respond to the needs of teens and young adults, these age-appropriate activities are available.

Weekend Respite Events

Friday Movie Nights, Saturday Morning and Overnights
Weekend hours allow parents a night out or a morning to run errands.  Activities are offered for a variety of ages, abilities, and interests.  Overnights scheduled on Saturdays from 6:00 PM to Sundays to 9:00 AM.

Inspiration Studios
Available for teens and adults with basic skills and interest in art.  Local professional artists partner with special needs artists to create unique works of art. Artists are also involved in periodic art exhibits in the community and have designed cards and other items for sale in the community.

 

Summer Programs

Summer Enrichment
Week-long fun and educational themes are enhanced with field trips to the zoo, swimming, and bowling.  Activities like sports, art and music therapy are offered from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

Camp Hand-in-Hand
Registration begins in April for this day camp experience offered the last two weeks in July.  Horses, fishing, canoeing, crafts, swimming, archery and traditional camp activities are all part of the fun filled day.  Transportation and a family cook-out included.
