Greeting Card Sales | Meet the Artists
The Program: Inspiration Studio is a collaboration of teens and adults with special needs and area art professionals. Our goal is to develop artistic talents and nurture self-expression. Artists with disabilities also have the opportunity to display their creative abilities at public art shows. Inspiration Studio's classes are currently held on Saturday mornings from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM during the school year and on Wednesday evenings from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM in the summer. As with most of our programs, spaces are limited.
Location: Inspiration Studio takes place at Hand-in-Hand's Tessa's Place, 3860 Middle Road in Bettendorf, IA. Directions
Who We Serve: Inspiration Studio focuses primarily on teens and adults with disabilities who have and interest and some talent in art. The primary goal of this program is not to provide respite for families or introductory craft activities. Hand-in-Hand would be happy to direct you to other programs to achieve these goals. Typical peer volunteers will also participate in this program which is open to the public.
Fee: The program fee is $10 per date. Please contact Hand-in-hand if you need financial assistance. We are also grateful to past Inspiration Studio sponsors including; The Amy Helpenstell Foundation, The Dlouhy Family, The Day Foundation, Scott County Regional Authority, Quad City Arts and Family Care Solutions.
Art Shows and Art For Sale: In addition, our artists plan to sell projects created during this class to off-set some program expenses. The display and sale of Inspiration Studio creations will also help to promote this program, inform the community about disability issues and celebrate the abilities of our participants.
