We became familiar with Hand-in-Hand in 2009. We lived in East Moline and Korryn had just joined the Pleasant Valley Sparkle Cheerleaders. Parents talked about Hand-in-Hand and how their children participated in the programs. We went and visited and started sending Korryn to Movie nights. She fell in love with Hand-in-Hand, a place where she was able to explore her independence, and Hand-in-Hand was a factor in our moving to Iowa.
We moved to Iowa in 2010 and Korryn began to attend the after- school program. We felt so comfortable and knew she was in a safe and secure environment. Korryn has grown so much at Hand-in-Hand. She has grown in confidence and independence, and has gained many new friends.
My husband and I appreciate that Hand-in-Hand has provided a safe and secure environment where we can drop her off and have that much-needed couple time.
I tell people all the time about how much Korryn loves Hand-in-Hand and how much
we love it! The staff understands the parent's need for respite and the child’s need for social activity and independence.
