Summer school age programs

Registration for summer is now full

Thank you for choosing Hand in Hand! We value the trust you put in us and look forward to a wonderful summer. Hand in Hand’s Summer Enrichment is an inclusive summer program that is designed for, but not limited to, individuals with disabilities ages 5-18 years of age.  We offer fun fieldtrips, center-based adventures and opportunities for friendship and growth throughout the summer months.  We fill our summer days with activities to keep kids active and engaged.

This summer, Andrea Pizano will be joining us as the Summer Care Coordinator. She is already busy planning a theme for each week and lots of fun activities!  Many of you will know Andrea as the past Curriculum Coordinator. We are thrilled to have her back.

Here is some important information for you.

Dates & Times: Summer care will be offered Wednesday, June 8 – Wednesday, August 18 Monday – Friday 7:00 am – 5:30 pm. To plan activities and field trips we ask that children arrive by 9:30 am.

Location: As of right now, the summer program will be held at our typical location (3860 Middle Road Bettendorf). However, as our program has grown, as has our need for more space! We are looking for alternative space and will keep you apprised of any changes to our plans. If you have a connection at a nearby church or school who might be interested in partnering, please let us know!

Enrollment: If your child is a recent Hand in Hand participant, you will be required to complete a few updated forms, but you are considered “enrolled” in the program. If your child is new to Hand in Hand or if significant time has passed since they have attended you will need to complete a full enrollment packet, available from Kayla ( All forms must be completed before an individual can attend.

Safety: The Hand in Hand summer school age program will observe all Hand in Hand COVID operating plans including required mask wearing and screening before entry. Individuals who are displaying symptoms of COVID-19 or have been exposed to an individual who tests positive for COVID-19 must be excluded from care.  More up to date information will be provided as summer nears.

Meals: Please pack a PEANUT FREE lunch for your child daily. Hand in Hand will provide a morning and afternoon snack! Please note that when we are out of the building we are unable to heat lunches.

Attire: Please ensure your child is wearing closed toed shoes, comfortable and weather appropriate attire. Please feel free to pack extra clothes just in case!

Medications: All medications must be labeled and checked in with the director. An updated med sheet must be completed regularly.

Fees & Schedules:

Hand in Hand is a non-profit organization in which all program income is invested directly back into our programs for further development of enriching activities and expansion for new activities to be created. We keep activity expense at a minimum for families, while providing a low client-to-staff ratio in conjunction with supervisory staff necessary to ensure a quality experience for each individual. Fees do not fully cover the cost that Hand in Hand incurs each year, so we rely heavily on donations and fundraising to help keep our programs running.

Waiver Care: Part Time: $45/Week | Full Time: $72/Week

Non-Waiver Care: Part Time:  $120/Week | Full Time: $175/Week

Part Time Care: 3 or fewer days per week | Full Time Care: 4-5 days per week.

We do not offer a daily rate and families are charged for the weeks they sign up for.

There is a $25 non-refundable enrollment fee for new participants. As outlined in our handbook, all families will be charged a $15 sunscreen fee.
