Meet the Lewis Family

  • Hand in Hand is here for all of us, like the Lewis family, whose five kids all attend Hand in Hand, receiving the care, compassion and connection they need to succeed.

Family support and individual growth go Hand in Hand. Here for people, here for families, here for the Quad Cities.

    It’s theirs. It’s ours.

“The support here is unmatched,” Ki’erra Lewis said of her experience with Hand in Hand.

A single mom with five young kids, Ki’erra was looking for a daycare conveniently located so she could work and provide for her children. She said she found it difficult to find a daycare that could accept Childcare Assistance and that could take all five kids at the same time while also accommodating two of her children who have a disability.

“The people here understand and are still 100% welcoming and know how to handle my babies. I have found that other daycares do not accept children with disabilities,” she explained.

She said she greatly appreciates the fact that Hand in Hand can pick up her kids from school and transport them safely back to Hand in Hand. She enjoys staying connected with their day through our Brightwheel classroom app.

“Being a single mom of five kids has taken a toll on me and my life during my divorce. My ex-husband is not active and it has really made my life difficult. I have to pay for everything five times for my babies. No matter what, I will make ends meet but it will be nice to get family support. Hand in Hand has provided that support that I needed,” Ki’erra said.

She says since attending, she has seen a confidence boost in all her children and says they feel accepted and loved for who they are and really enjoy attending.

Ki’erra said, “Hand in Hand has the most caring staff. They truly care about your well being and you can be certain that your children will be safe here.”

“Everyone wins at Hand in Hand!!”
