Hand in Hand Looking for Volunteers for Summer Camp

Hand in Hand is seeking dedicated volunteers to assist in their upcoming summer camp for children of all abilities. The camp will be held from July 10th – 14th and July 17 – 21st from 8:15 A.M. to 4:30 P.M. at Scott County Park.

This year’s camp will offer a variety of exciting activities including fishing, swimming, canoeing, crafts, archery, and much more. The camp provides a safe and fun environment for children of all abilities to enjoy outdoor activities while building their independence, social skills, and self-esteem.

Volunteers will have the opportunity to be a buddy for a camper and assist them in all daily activities as needed. The organization is seeking individuals who are passionate about working with children, enthusiastic about the outdoors, and committed to making a difference. They would love to have you for the full two weeks but are happy to work with your schedule if you are only able to volunteer one or two days.

“Volunteering for Camp Hand in Hand has been an amazing experience! I have learned so much and have made lifelong friends. After 22 years of volunteering, I honestly couldn’t imagine my summers without it,” said long-time volunteer, Andy Reiff.

No prior experience is required, but volunteers must be at least 14 years of age and pass a background check. Volunteers will receive training prior to the start of the camp. This is a great opportunity to gain experience working with children, make new friends, and give back to the community. It’s also a perfect opportunity for high school students to gain volunteer hours.

“This will be my third year volunteering at Camp Hand in Hand. I enjoy helping the campers with all the fun activities, and feel good about giving back to my community,” said high school volunteer Noah Seagren.
